Highfield

Posted by david n on November 12, 2007, 8:37 am

We agreed to take a quick arranged friendly with Highfield in Bicester as they had a game postponed. The parents rallied round to tranport a squad of 14 players who all played a big part of the game. Highfield started well taking a one goal lead with a reply just before half time taking us in level. A much stronger second half performance with us camped in their half virtually throughout. Three goals from the boys ,lots of woodwork hit, missed chances and some hard luck kept the score to a good 4-1 victory. again big thanks to parents. Well done all.

Littlemore - away

Littlemore 1 Oxford City 14.
Awesome display all round. Some fantastic individual performances adding to the collective. Burhan grabbing a double hat trick before spending the last 30 mins in goal with James A scoring 3 as well. Matty B a fine brace with Elliot P, Simon S and Sultan one each. All 15 players on the squad today getting on the pitch. Lots and lots of positives today and a few not to mention negatives giving us lots to work on Tuesday practise. I was particularly pleased with the starting subs who showed what being part of a team is all about. Your day will come. No card issues today with a great ref. Well done boys.

Blackbirds

Blackbirds B 1 Colts 0.

A very close game with the boys only losing to a late deflected goal from a scuffed shot. Playing against a team in a higher league the boys held their own with some fine individual performances particularly the back four and GK. We passed much better but still not often enough particularly in the first half but by the second we reverted to the long ball up the middle too often.

With some better finishing and a little luck the result could have gone the other way.

A great ref who still, did not award us the most blatant of penalties, however we have no complaints as i would love to have him every week.

A well supported contest from both sides it was a great way to spend a bright autumnal sunday morning. thanks to Andy C and all the parents and families for turning out.

Reading

Would just like to say well done to the U15s for your effort & commitment although you lost 4-1 to a very strong & organised Reading side in the cup. Found it very hard to keep quiete whilst helping out running the line for David today .... just my managerial instinct taking over i guess.

Hopefully the cobwebs have been cleared from the long closed season & you can put your effort ,determination & commitment into the league. I have no doubt that with all the new players you have added to the squad that you can go on to greater things & under the guidance of David your new manager achieve alot this season .
So i wish David & the boys the best of luck for the rest of the season & no doubt i will endeavour to watch a few more games.
